Obituary – Katherine Adams
Ms. Katherine Adams was born on May 21, 1945 in Rentz, Georgia. Her parents were to Georgia M. Powell and Willie Finney. She received her formal education from the Brantley County School System.
Katherine was of Baptist faith and gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a member of the First African Baptist Church, Hoboken, Ga, where she served on the Usher Board for years. After moving her family to Waycross, Georgia she later became a member of New Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church where she served in many capacities. As a member of New Mt. Pleasant, Katherine served as a Sunday School Instructor, a member of the Pastor’s Aide Ministry, and a member of the Mother Board.
The Lord called Katherine home to rest on Sunday, June 26, 2022, after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by a son, Warren Gaskins, a daughter, Mary Gaskins, her mom, Georgia Powell, a brother, Leroy Finney, 2 grandsons; Brodrick Gaskins, and Travellyon Jones, and two great-grandsons, Renalba Gaskins and Rashaud Green.
Katherine leaves to cherish her loving memories, her children, Joyce Jones (Robert), Jimmy Gaskins, JoAnn Strickland, and James Gaskins; grandchildren, Kimesha Gaskins-Keaton (Corey), Candice Gaskins, Michelle Hill (Paul), Jimmy Gaskins Jr. (Shikema), Myriah Jah-barri, Rashad Jah-barri, Levi Jah-barri, Jameka Gaskins, and Ezra Gaskins; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She also leaves two sisters, Robbie Williams and Florida Gallway; and her godchildren, Brenda, and Johnny Reynolds along with several other loving nieces, nephews, and many other sorrowful relatives and friends.
All arrangements have been entrusted to Rainge Memorial Chapel, Inc. The mask mandate will be enforced.
