Hayward Bowens was born on March 19, 1951, in Hoboken, Georgia, to the late Peter and Bessie Mae Bowens. He peacefully went from labor to reward on February 1, 2026, at HCA Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. He received his formal education in the public schools of Ware County, Georgia, and was faithfully employed by LC Lee Farms for many years, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. He was preceded in death by his son. Michael L. Nixon and a host of siblings. He leaves to cherish his loving memory two sons, Heyward Nixon (Cynthia) and David Nixon, both of Hoboken, Georgia; two grandchildren, Devante and Aubrey Nixon of Brookman, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, sorrowing friends, and loved ones.
