Carlton Rainge

The sixth child of eleven, Mr. Rainge was born and reared in Nahunta, Ga. He was brought up in a very religious and nurturing environment by two loving parents. He graduated from Brantley County High School and went on to further his education at South Georgia College where he received an Associates of Science with a concentration in Biology in 1972.
Mr. Rainge is a 1984 graduate of Gupton Jones College with a degree in Mortuary Science. He interned at McDowell’s Funeral Home in Griffin, Georgia and served as Assistant Operations Manager.
He relocated to South Georgia in 1993 to help operate a family business. He continued to pursue his passion of the funeral home business and worked at funeral homes in various capacities and locations in Baxley, Blackshear, and Waycross.
His lifelong dream of becoming an owner of a funeral home became a reality in 2005. The launch of Rainge Memorial Chapel, Inc. was the realization of a lifetime ambition and fulfillment of his personal passion. As the business has gradually grown over the years, Rainge Memorial Chapel has maintained the simple down-home charm and meticulous attention to detail that defines the brand.
Mr. Rainge is a prominent businessman and community leader of Blackshear and is very actively involved in many organizations throughout the area. He serves as a deacon of Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church.
He is a member of the 100 Black Men of South Georgia, and is past Chairman of the 2nd District GA Funeral Service Practitioners Association. Also former Mortician of the Year 2008-2009.
A passion for service and compassion for others has made Rainge Memorial Chapel, Inc. One of the most well established funeral homes in South Georgia.
Mr. Rainge is married to Pastor Marie Rainge and they have two children.
