Lillian Fair Moring was born July 5th, 1948, the second of three children to the late Willie Fair, Sr and Florence Hinds Smiley.
She was nurtured by a mother who taught her early in life the importance of developing a strong foundation in the church and a relationship with God. She became a member of St. Peter’s Baptist Church at a very early age, and began attending Sunday School, singing in the choir and became an integral part of the church. She graduated from Center High School, Class of 1966 and thereafter attended Waycross Junior College.
She professed as a Surgical Tech working first at Memorial Hospital in Waycross, Georgia and later moving to Brunswick, Georgia where she continued for several years at Glynn County Memorial Hospital. She was also employed in later years by Glynn County Department of Public Works.
She is survived by her mother Florence Smiley of Patterson, Georgia, two sisters Marie Myrick of Patterson, Georgia, and Julia Alston of Waycross, Georgia, and one brother Willie Fair, Jr of Shreveport, LA. Two aunts – Maple Evans, Americus, Georgia, and Florine Patterson (Lieutenant) of Orlando, Florida. Two uncles, Rev. Fess Hargrove of Houston, Texas, and Julius Jacobs of Orlando, Florida. A host of cousins, scores of nieces and nephews, including Pastors Carlos and Chenille White of Waycross, Georgia and Tenisha Hill (Warren) of Blackshear, Georgia.
The family of Lillian Fair Moring would like to express our sincere gratitude and thanks to each of you for your love, prayers and the many kindnesses bestowed upon our family during our time of bereavement. Whatever the comfort, you touched our hearts and we love you for it. May God’s richest blessing be to you and your families.
