John Timmons

Mr. John Edward “Ted” Timmons, Sr., was born April 4, 1933 to the late Ellick and Shirley Timmons, in Callahan, Florida.  As a young man he grew grew and attended the schools in Callahan, Florida.  He was married to Lula Mae Smiley of Blackshear, GA.  And to this union one child was born.                                                                             

Ted was employed with Pierce Timber of Blackshear.  He was a Pulpwood worker and a successful logger  where he drove a skitter for over sixty years.                                                                                             

His hobbies were fishing, playing the blues on his guitar and gospel songs.                                                                                                       

Preceded him in death are four sisters: Salley Webster, Barbie Williams, Willie May Ward, Evelyn Fae White.                                                   

Cherishing his memory Is his loving wife of 59 years, Lula Mae Smiley Timmons, Blackshear, GA; Children: Albert “Ted” Edward Timmons (Monique Vail), Blackshear, GA; John Edward Timmons, Jr., Crawfordville, FL; Oliver Bryant, Tallahassee, FL; Helen (Pittman) Harper, Daytona Beach, FL; Bonita James, Madison, FL, and a number of other children; eighteen grand children, seventeen great grand children; siblings: Bernice Harris, Tallahassee, FL; Delyen (Curtis) Glaskin, Palm Bay, FL; Ruby Ward, Crawfordville, FL; May 9James) West, Jacksonville, FL; Sandra (Eugene) Jones, Port Saint Joe, FL; Aurther Hutchenson, Crestview, FL; Willie Resberry, Ft. Lauderdale, FL;  sisters-in-law: Elizabeth White, Deltonia, FL; Hatie White, Rochester, NY; Barbara (Bill) Whitley, Rochester, NY; Eatie Jackson, Miami, FL; Caroline Hill, Atlanta, GA; Bonita (Ira) Brown, South Carolina; Aunt Larcenia Braxton, Tampa, FL, 106 years old;  nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends.
