On Thursday August 1st, 2019, our almighty savior called one of his saints, Charlie O. Madison, Jr. , home to eternal rest. He was born March 21st, 1934, in Atkinson County, to the late Deacon Charlie and Sister Louise Madison, Sr.
Charlie was educated in the Atkinson County School System, Pearson, Georgia. He was a quiet person that loved to get by himself and praise and commune with Lord. After graduating from school, he moved to Cocoa, Florida, where he worked for the City. He later moved to Pompano, FL, and finally on to Blackshear, GA where he lived until the end of his days.
He is preceded in his death by his wife, Mary Madison, two sons, James and Ivory Madison, a brother, Johnny Madison, Sr, two sisters, Ida White and Bessie Lee Madison.
He leaves to cherish his wonderful memories to six sisters : Willie B. Kelly, Blackshear, GA ; Alice Taylor; Atlanta, GA; Berry Battle, Alma, GA; Rosie (Arthur) Hargrove, Newark, NJ, Velma (Robert) Floyd, Allentown, PA; Linda Lane, Newark, NJ, one brother : Monroe Madison, Sr., Fairfax, SC; two grandsons : Malcolm Madison, Savannah, Georgia; Brooks James, Elerton, GA; one granddaughter Lashonda Madison, Jackson, FL; three great grandchildren, loving step-children, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Tentatively, the funeral service has been changed to Sunday, August 11 at Bethel Temple,209 Burrough St; Blackshear, Georgia 31516 , 2:00 p.m. Rainge Memorial Chapel is sacredly in charge of all arrangements (912) 449-0709.
