Beatrice (Clayton) Cohen

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my father’s house are many mansions: If it was not so, I would have told you, I got to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there he maybe also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.” – John 14:1-4. 
 
Beatrice Clayton Cohen the daughter of  the late James and Kittie Clayton, was born November 6, 1938 in Waynesville, GA. On Tuesday, April 21, 2020, she heard the Master’s call and she replied, “I’m coming.” 
 
In her youth, she joined First African Baptist Church. She was well known for her welcome speech, and when she spoke, you knew you were welcomed in the House of the Lord.  She was a     phenomenal woman and a woman of faith. She had a love for everyone she knew. She brought laughter and wisdom not just to her family, but to everyone she knew. Her presence will be missed. 
 
She was proceeded in death by her son, Sam Cohen Jr.; seven siblings: Frauzena Grummell, Mabin Metcalf, Clara Grovner, Aldunia Clayton, Charlie Clayton, Leslie Clayton, and Irvin Clayton.                                                                                                              She leaves to cherish her precious memories four devoted daughters: Darlene Bruno of Waynesville, GA, Tracy Bennett, Kim Cohen of Nahunta, GA and Crystal Lettsome of Kingsland, GA; two grandsons that she raised as her own, Markquin Cohen of Waynesville, GA and Larry Cohen of Brunswick, GA; three devoted son’s-in-law: Carmelo (India) Bruno, Alton Bennett, and Arvil (Mace) Lettsome; three devoted sisters: Carrie Reed of Brunswick, GA., Gloria Tendle of Seattle, WA., and Hazel Coleman of New Jersey; her grandchildren: Darrell Cohen and Devon Hamilton of Alabama, Mickel Hilton of Tennessee, Victor Cohen, Perez Cohen, and Sam Melton of Nahunta, GA; Shaylah   Hilton and Autumn Hilton of Kingsland, GA; Sierra Mcduffie and Serenity Hester of Nahunta, GA., ten great grands and a host of nieces and nephews.
