On August 25, 1941, in Claxton, Georgia, Ollie Mae Baker, the youngest child of the late Archie Baker Sr. and the late Carrie Mikell Baker, entered this world and began a beautiful life filled with love, family, and cherished memories.

On September 19, 2026, Ollie peacefully departed this life at Evans Memorial Hospital, under the compassionate care of Ogeechee Area Hospice and with her devoted niece and caregiver, Chenita Porter, by her side.

Ollie was a proud 1960 graduate of Evans County High School in Claxton, Georgia. She also attended Swainsboro Technical School. Later, Ollie moved to New York City, where she lived with her aunt, Ida Smith, for a short time before relocating to New Jersey to live with relatives.

While in New Jersey, Ollie was employed by Renco Toys, Inc. and later worked with General Hose, where she was involved with automotive air-conditioning parts. After many years in New Jersey, Ollie returned home to Claxton following the passing of her father to care for her beloved mother. She later became employed with Claxton Manufacturing Company. Ollie also provided loving service and care to the families of Kevin Odell and Mrs. Jean.

At an early age, Ollie joined Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Groveland, Georgia, where she served faithfully until she moved away. During her time in New Jersey, she became a member of Hightower Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey. Upon returning home to Claxton, she united with the Holiness Church, where she continued her faith journey.

Ollie was preceded in death by her parents, Archie Baker Sr. and Carrie Mikell Baker; her brothers, Wallace Baker, Archie Baker Jr., Waddell Baker, and James Verdell Baker; and her sisters, Mildred Carr, Nona Lee Williams, Clotee Jennings, Esteen Swanson, and Olivia Porter.

Ollie leaves to cherish her precious memories a special niece and devoted caregiver, Chenita Porter; her nephew, Leon Carr (Emma Jean); and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She also leaves to cherish her memory Kevin and Diane Odell, their children and grandchildren, as well as Mrs. Jean Deloach, along with many others whose lives she touched with her love, kindness, and presence.

Ollie Mae Baker will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those blessed to share in her life.
