Mr. Lee Dorsey Thomas, age 87, of Glennville, GA passed Monday, September 18, 2017, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, GA with loved ones at his bedside.

Mr. Thomas also known as “Jackie Boy” was born in Waycross, GA to the parentage of Mary Lee Kennedy Thomas and Willie McNair Thomas. He grew up in Glennville, GA and had many friends.  “Jackie Boy”, the name he was affectionally called by locals loved fishing, gardening and watching his favorite team the “Atlanta Braves” on television.

Left to cherish his memories are four sons: Johnny Lee Thomas (Ida), Waynesville, GA; Earl Thomas (Emma),  Donnie Thomas of Jesup, GA; and Danny Scott of Glenville, GA; seven daughters; Joyce Thomas, Pearl Thomas, and Kizzie Spearman (Earnest) all of Jesup, GA; Della Thomas Wyman, Vidalia, GA; Bessie Thomas Harvey, Glennville, GA; Mary Ann Bryant, St. Marys, GA; and Dorothy Davis, Nahunta, GA; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and good friends.

Family and friends are being received at the home of his son Earl Thomas (Emma) at 300 Ridge Rd., Jesup, GA .

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 23, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at the Greater Zachariah Baptist Church, Rev. C.L. Anderson, Pastor, 1015 Greater Zachariah Baptist Church Road in Glennville, GA.   The son of Mr. Thomas, Overseer Johnny Lee Thomas of Brunswick, GA and Jesup, GA; will bring words of comfort.  Prior to the service public viewing will be held at the church from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Glennville Memorial Gardens, Hwy 301 N., Glennville, GA.

The cortege will assemble at 12:30 p.m. at the home of his son Earl Thomas

Final and most sacred arrangements are entrusted to the professional care of Rainge Memorial Chapel, 505 Ware St, Blackshear, GA.
