Ms. Lavon S. Lincoln of Patterson, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Memorial Hospital of Savannah after an extended illness. She was born on May 11, 1924 to the late Walter and Minor Smith. She attended school in the Pierce County School System. She met and married Wesley Lincoln, Sr., and to their union six children. She later met Cleveland Hollis, Sr., and to their union six children were born.
Ms. Lavon was known by everyone in the community as a very loving person with a welcoming spirit. She was an excellent cook and was willing to share her home and table with all those who entered her house. She was preceded in death by six siblings: Clyde Smith, Joe Smith, Roland Smith, Lois Smith Hayes, Tom Smith, and Lewis Smith. She also mourned the death of three children: Wesley Lincoln, Sr., Bertha Lee Lincoln, and Maxine Wright.
Those left to cherish her beautiful memories include nine (9) children: Hazel L. Ferguson, Waycross, Georgia; Blondell Mobley, Patterson, Georgia; Herman Lincoln (Connie), Patterson, Georgia; Benedine Jefferson, Waycross, Georgia; Cleveland Hollis, Jr. (Catherine), Waycross, Georgia; Mabalene Baker (Gordon), Waycross, Georgia; Roosevelt Hollis (Linda), Waycross, Georgia; Melvin Hollis (Ramona), Patterson, Georgia; and Helen Washington (Guylee), Offerman, Georgia.
Grandchildren include: Jerome Lincoln (Jeanette), Blackshear, Georgia; Jadon Lincoln, Lexington Park, Maryland; John Harper, Jr. (Leitia), Waycross, Georgia; Latoya Lincoln, Patterson, Georgia; Tyrone Lincoln (Carrie), Patterson, Georgia; Renata Jenkins (Tony), Savannah, Georgia; Natoya Hollis, Panama City Florida, Karita Robinson (Quincy), Lithia Springs, Georgia; Jonathan Hollis, Panama City Florida, Rosa Hollis, Panama City, Florida; Sharee Lincoln, Patterson, Georgia; Cornelius Bennett, Jasper, Florida; Crystal Hollis (Marcus), St. Mary’s Georgia; Marla Hollis, Newnan, Georgia; Jasmine Washington, Valdosta, Georgia; Carol Hollis, Waycross, Georgia; and Mariah Hollis, Newnan, Georgia. Also a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, March 15, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at Rainge Funeral Home in Blackshear, Georgia. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Offerman Baptist Church, Offerman, Georgia at 2:00 p.m.
The family will be receiving family and friends at the home of their Mother at 3652 Hyers Road in Patterson, Georgia.
Final and most sacred arrangements are entrusted to the professional care of Rainge Memorial Chapel, Inc. of Blackshear, GA.
