Bronella S. Fleming

Ms. Bronella S. Fleming was called home on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at Satilla Hospice House in Waycross, Georgia following an extended illness.  She was born on November 7, 1927 in Norristown (Emmanuel County), Georgia to the late Roger Calvin “RC” and Lillie Mae Salter. She was preceded in death by both her parents along with her son, Roger, who passed away in 2012.
 
As an only child, Bronella grew up in Emmanuel County surrounded by aunts, cousins, and extended family. In the 1940’s, she and her parents relocated to the Milligan community of Blackshear, Georgia. During this time period, she joined Fourth Mount Olive Church which was located in the Milligan community.
 
She was a natural caregiver who took care of some of the neighborhood’s children as well as elderly neighbors. She also acted as caregiver for her mother and late son whom she provided devoted and dedicated care until their passing’s.
 
She was a quiet woman whose presence brought joy to the family she leaves behind. Survivors include daughter, Peggy Thompson, Valdosta, GA and son Otis (Margaree) Fleming, Argyle, GA.   Several grandchildren: Regina Hamilton, Jacksonville, FL, Geneva Jones, Port Humene, CA, Cicely Thompson, Waycross, GA, Abraham Thompson, Jr.  and Amanda Thompson, Valdosta, GA, Rebecca Thompson, Conyers, GA, Sham Harris, Brunswick, GA, Latoya NeSmith, Baxley, GA, Otis (Ivory) Fleming, Jr., Raleigh, NC, Carlton Fleming, Argyle, GA, Tajai Fleming, Waycross, GA, Tacara Fleming , Statesboro, GA,  Several great grandchildren including Amari, Tre, and  Destiny (Ren),  numerous cousins, including Yvonne (Muriel) Jackson, Vidalia, GA, and Joshua (JW) Freeman, Bradenton, FL, and a host of sorrowing friends.
 
Special thanks to the nurses and aides of Tender Care for providing excellent home health care and invaluable assistance to the family.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 22nd from 12:00 p.m. 1:00p.m. at Fourth Mount Olive Baptist Church, 900 Yeomans Street, Blackshear.
Home Going Celebration will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Morris Pate, of Fourth Mount Olive Baptist Church, pastor bringing words of comfort.
 

Interment will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery, Blackshear.
